The hospital is designed to provide mass service to eye related disease. It will provide 500 cataract eye surgeries per week and OPD service to 300 patients per day. The five storey hospital building with plinth area of 1,550 sq.m. comprises following facilities:

25 beds, out patients department, operation theaters, post operative wards, laboratories, pharmacy, ophthalmic dispensary, CSD, laundry, administrative department, classrooms, library cum research area, auditorium, apartments and basement parking.

The main design features of this Project are:

• Earthquake resistant design achieved by working out optimum column span and by dividing the building into two identical stable blocks.
• Simple, functional, less maintenance requirement, ease on maintaining design.
• Use of solar energy for hot water and linen drying.
