Working in conjunction with the engineering consultancy Rambolls we were commissioned to undertake a provide a masterplan for residential, commercial and retails uses on site around the town centre and to establish a high quality public realm. The detailed study explored options to improve access and movement between the railway station, transport interchange, the High Street, the town centre of Grays and the new Community college across the railway line. The Clients aspiration was to establish a phased programme of improvements that accommodated the proposed engineering works of a sub way or bridge intervention to replace the level railway crossing.
As a supplement to this project we undertook a level access study for access into the station on behalf of Thurrock and Network Rail.
