    Hey there!
I've been gone for a while, but I wanted to share with you these pics I took today.
As part of a seminar/workshop about sustainability and building with bamboo, three bamboo paraboloids were built at the main courtyard (these will be used for a project in Veracruz, near the Gulf of Mexico).

This is the bamboo, a native species called guadua angustifolia.

    It's real thick!

x cierto ya viendo "los joints" how god those actually worked for the object?? wasn't it better to design certain kind of connector which allowed easier assembly of the whole structure, or even more complex configurations? (en ingles cause is an open forum with a mainly english communication)

the joints were actually very simple to make and the idea was for a low-cost, easy-building prototype, for a rural community in Veracruz... But yeah, there are plenty of options with bamboo...

HELLO, I`m Fabian, one of the workshops organizer. After the UNAM-FUNDEGUADA DE COLOBIA experience we now are designing another paraboloid for PEMEX, like 3 times more large than the UNAM one. We have a cyber space in www.colectivoespacial.com , that is in re-construction. Soon we`re gonna upload info about this work with PEMEX, and other suff. Contact us at colectivoespacial@gmail.com
