We recently finished our first project, which was to create an analogous model of a detail of a certain building. Each studio was assigned a building and the buildings that were examined were: Gaudi's Sagrada Familia, Aalto's Saynatsalo Town Hall, Piano's Marie Tjibaou Cultural Center in New Caledonia, R.M.Schindler's house in Hollywood, and Jorn Utzon's Sydney Opera House.

nice :)
Just curious- how was idea of the model being analogous and not just a representation of some part of the building presented by the instructor(s)?
Great project, but I imagine the analogy part might be difficult to get across.
True - although the project was titled Analogous Modeling, different instructors emphasized different aspects (the choice of building also had alot to do with this as well).
For my section, precision was emphasized. In the end, what was important was to gain a better understanding on the decisions Utzon made in designing the building.
