    go fly a kite

    first year space has become a somewhat uplifting little alcove within the al&d studio ever since students were asked to make tetrahedral kites for design studio 1.

    part of the final crits were at al&d...

    but the real test of success were the crits at the beach. some flew swimmingly....

      we had a similar project in 2nd year of undergrad. You got 20% for the looks the rest of it for its flight. At the end of it I had two sears cut into my wrists from the cord attached to my kite - i made it too well and extended the full length of the cord 200m, It caught the trade winds and made a mockery of me. We couldn't bring it down instead just cut it loose. Good news is I did get a good grade. yeah!
