South Side Main Street (SoMa) is the developing Arts district of Little Rock, Arkansas. Past the “Creative Corridor” towards the southern end, the street moves into a historic housing neighborhood - in which this project is proposed as a community stimulant.

This natatorium project proposes a community center that will enliven the district with public recreational amenities. Included in the design is a competition lap pool, thermal baths, recreational outdoor pool and splash park, adaptable multi-purpose room, and a public cafe situated on the corner. The state of the art design is complimented with sustainable materials and energy efficient technologies providing high performance characteristics.

Customary to the school’s program of the 4th year, students are required to complete a Comprehensive Studio. This course challenges the student to consider all aspects of design along with budget and functionality of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing.
