New York, NY
For this 1930s red-brick townhouse in New York’s Greenwich Village Historic District, we renovated and enlarged the existing mixed-use building to add functionality, openness, and green space. The landmarked façade was restored, including the wooden storefront at the street level. The building, which includes a restaurant on the ground floor and residential units on the upper floors, was extended in the rear creating levels of patios and terraces. A rooftop addition with a ribbon of casement windows serves as an expanded living area adjacent to a new urban roof garden.
