KB hallen genopførelse, my first 3D visualization in Sketchup of the great historical hall KB hallen in Frederiksberg Peter Bangs vej at Kjøbenhavns Boldklub- have good memories of the hall -  sadly it burned after I made this visualization - Hopefully a successful modern restoration will come in the future.

KB Hallen at Peter Bangs Vej at Kjøbenhavns Boldklub  is a social and welfare-enhancing, functionalist masterpiece and is one of the few examples in Denmark at the European organic / sculptural modernist version of the style (Bauhaus school, including Le Corbusier, Arne Jacobsen and Jørn Utzon also experimented with ). It was finished and was inaugurated April 22, 1938 by King Christian X, as part of what was then Europe's largest private sports facilities.

Architect Hans Hansen stood as a principal. Engineering for the project was a specialist in prestressed concrete, Christen Ostenfeld, and performance artist, the author, the designer Poul Henningsen, was deeply involved in the design of the KB Hallen, designed among other things a special lamp KB. In an adjoining banquet hall, called the Pejsesalen, with the two-storey organically shaped fireplace, the cartoonist Secure Hansen performed murals of sports executive men and women, as well as the workers started construction of the hall.

KB Hallen  had been used for historic sports and cultural events, many have traveled far to attend the different events with famous actors such as Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Louis Armstrong and many more.

The architects Christensen & Co., has just presented conceptual design for the new KB Hallen and local plan process is set in motion. Take a peek at the architects' visualizations of a new KB Hallen, which builds on the historical heritage of a new modern architectural interpretation.
