Quartz is a proposed commercial office tower in Barcelona, sited across the street from the convention center designed by Toyo Ito, and within a neighborhood of towers designed by the likes of Jean Nouvel and Rafael Moneo. The facade is designed in direct response and in dialog with its residential neighboring buildings. This residential block, named geodes (also designed by MorphEstudio) is composed of strong horizontal and diagonal lines within its facade.  Quartz evolves this language and manipulates the glass panels in relation to the vertical plane to create a dynamic glass tower within a context of exciting contemporary architecture in the neighboring district.
