Located in the sea front of the coasts of New York and embedded within its’ landscape, the design for this private residence served as an investigation on the integration between home and landscape, private living and private leisure during the completion of a landscape-architecture oriented studio.
The building complex, arranged around a center piazza for social gathering, incorporates places for leisure: naturally- filtered pools, a cylindrical open sauna, a meditation space and decks with sea access; with elements for living, a two story studio with panoramic views to the sea front. Making use of natural materials and simple geometries alongside with the incorporation of leisure components that can be both used for social gathering or private relaxation, the residence becomes a space in which individuals can directly experience the beauty of the residence’s natural surroundings.
