This live-edge floating shelf transformation of a previously overlooked slab due to chainsaw marks from a branch removal.
I sculpted away the chainsaw marks, reshaping them into a graceful, waterfall-like flow that follows the wood grain. This carving accentuates the wood’s natural movement and texture.
Additionally, I hand-cut ebony bow tie inlays to stabilize the slab’s natural cracks. Creating a nice contrast between the walnut and black ebony.
