Japanese Low Slung End Table

This Japanese-inspired end table is a simple, elegant design.  One of the main inspirations for this design was the arch of a Torri Gate, as well as the taper in the columns that hold the arch up.  This translated into taper legs on the table and the lower arch that is flipped upside down from what you would see in a gate.  However, the tabletop itself reflects the steep angle; you would see the ends of the top columns cut at an angle.

The table is made of cherry; it stands 20″ Tall, 20″ wide, and 13″ deep.

I also teach a woodworking course on how to build this table
