Kunshan East New Town is a newly developed satellite town for Kunshan City. Our proposal is to establish the new town as a typical New Canal Town with ‘LOHAS’ sustainable life style. East New Town also looks for a unique identity in terms of economic and urban morphology to separate herself to other cities within the Yangtze River Delta area, such as Shanghai, Hangzhou. On the base of the well developed technology-industry park and the natural feature Xiajiahe River Park within the new town, a 4-tier green park and 8 canal streets compose a continuous urban park system, which reaches to all major functional districts and all communities. An integrated public transportation system, including shuttle bus, subway, water bus and BRT, connects the new town to Kunshan city center and other surrounding cities.
