GREENHOUSE OFFICE

Named for its openness and use of natural lighting strategies, the Greenhouse Office would provide a sustainable, easy-up structure that would create different program spaces in Coalton, Kentucky. The aim of the greenhouse-style office is to create a sustainable structure for not only the employees that inhabit it, but the surrounding area in terms of it’s environmental output. Although the land was previously cleared due to harmful coal mining ventures, one of the aims of this design is to not only renew and improve the area, but provide sustainability in the wake of an environmental overhaul. The facility is powered predominantly by windmills, a geothermal system, and a storage energy system housed underground, with photovoltaic panels within the structure itself.
