Beattyville is one of the smallest towns in Kentucky. Although it is adjacent to one of the most seasonally populated spots in Kentucky, the Red River Gorge, it remains a poor, undeveloped area. The Beattyville Community center is a method of bringing together the seasonal tourists and the locals of the town over shared interests, such as education, fitness, and the local youth.
