The location for the 240 foot (73 m) tower, designed for Seattle-based for Pillar Properties. The project’s location at the corner of 9th Avenue and John Street is fortuitous, offering an amazing address on the park, and a project of unique character. The distinctive location implores a project with equally evocative characteristics be created for tenants looking for modish living and a difference from what is currently available in the market.
Urban tower living can, in fact, embody a sense of community and personal identity . . . Neighborhood parks are often the connective tissue between neighborhoods, providing visual breaks in the urban landscape and offering the surrounding communities a resource for rest, play and a connection to nature. The PillarHouse plays on the idea of creating new parks and neighborhoods, though with elements arranged vertically, creating recognizable boroughs, features and geographies in the building, constructing a unique and highly desired project in an exceptional location in the city.
