The El Dorado Beach project is the first phase of implementing a grand vision for the City of South Lake Tahoe’s new civic and recreational center. The site is at the heart of the city’s effort to reconnect the community to the lake. In the early phases, Ware Associates helped facilitate the public workshops and provided integrated structural engineering design services. Ware Associates worked with RHAA and EHDD on the design of stone terraces, a plaza, beach access, and the multi-use boathouse. The team navigated the rigorous environmental requirements while fulfilling the community’s needs as expressed at multitudes of community workshops. The project is certified LEED Gold, and represents a model for the local community’s vision to develop a sustainable and vibrant environment and economy.
