Thomas Wensing

Brooklyn, NY, US

I work for Morris Adjmi Architects in NYC on residential and commercial projects. My previous experience in the US includes two residential projects; a brownstone renovation on the Upper West Side and a single family residence in Equinunk, PA, both while at Lang Architecture.

Before moving to New York I worked for three years as project architect at David Chipperfield Architects in London, UK (DCA). I am licensed architect in the Netherlands and the UK with 12 years of relevant experience.

At DCA I worked on a variety of projects, from a sculpture studio for Antony Gormley to the design and planning applications for large commercial and residential projects in London. In these projects I enjoyed both the design process as well as the negotiations with stakeholders and authorities. My deep interest in the field is reflected in my writing and teaching activities. I regularly contribute to Blueprint Magazine.

Before joining DCA I was a partner at Meld and Studio Seventi, both in London. The work entailed covering all aspects on a number of residential and commercial projects.

After graduation from Columbia University I worked as an architectural designer at Bogue Trondowski Architects. Projects were a Penthouse design on 9th Avenue, New York, NY, the design of a Guest Compound in Caribou County Idaho, and a bespoke kitchen for a house in Darien, CT. The kitchen was published in the Architectural Record in July 2007.

I graduated in 2004 from the Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design (MScAAD) at Columbia University on a Fulbright Scholarship and a Columbia University grant. I got a Master of Architecture Degree from Delft University in 2001.
