For the past 90 years, the Canada Permanent Trust Building has occupied the iconic southwest corner of Bay and Adelaide Streets in Toronto’s financial core. Menkes asked Sweeny&Co to lead the restoration of this 300,000 sf building. At grade, the historic Banking Hall will be preserved, restored and re-invented. Open to the public for the first time in decades, the Banking Hall and mezzanine will be the tower’s expanded Lobby and Hub connecting street and access to the new elevator banks and a direct access to First Canadian Place.
