The “Cineteca” is a participative device for recreative activities, executed and managed by the community of the building “Omar Torrijos” wich is part of a housing plan developed by the government to give 450 families a home in the center of Caracas, Venezuela. It was built by a team composed of young workers, architects, the government and volunteers from this area in four weeks and it will provide a meeting program and a playground space for children located on the inside of a space conformed by two interconnected zones of 50 m2 each one. The methodology used allows that young constructors develop new skills related with scale, proportion, form and function an also learn how to manage construction process introducing them into a productive life and finding a solution to keep them away of crime. Working as a team with all the participants creates a reflexive space to deepen in the research of new methods of work that allows architects and related professions to be stewards of social issues.
