The client requested a proposal for the decommissioned Leuven Railyard Workshop. The conceptual design envelops the historic building by new buildings which strategic windows facing the old workshop. The workshop is renovated and converted to a semi-public winter garden. This way the old spatial qualities of the workshop is protected for future generations while renovation costs are kept to a minimum.
The design team had only three days to complete the concept proposal.
