Oaktree Emerald Hotel is located on a contour hills area, facing directly to a valley and city. Because of its strategic location, the hotel is suitable for the concept of a resort hotel. The site has a steep hills contour with a long and narrow L-shaped site. In order to meet the programme’s requirements, a cut and fill system is used to get extra spaces and some part of the hill were left as an internal view from the corridor. The building mass is designed to follow the L-shaped site which is divided into three masses: hotel building, clubhouse, and parking area.
The building has open-air corridors concept with vines along it to blend with the natural surroundings. Concrete and cement exposed are used as materials on the facade with the aim of maximizing a limited budget. The rooms' configuration is designed to maximize views to the hill and valley while bringing natural experience into the rooms. Natural sunlight and cross air ventilation are able to enter through an open corridor, combined with balconies in each room.
