The Miami studio of Perkins and Will reimagined the interiors of the new headquarters of the Cisneros Group, a third-generation global media conglomerate, located in Downtown Miami on the top floors of a mixed-use transit hub anchored by the new Virgin Train system.  

Elina Cardet of Perkins and Will led designs, creating a strategy to shift away from a 100% private office in order to encourage collaboration and flexibility. Pursuing a 20/80 open floor plan, the team designed various private wellness rooms, quiet and collaboration-focused rooms and conference rooms, all organized around the Cisneros’ private art collection. Using the interiors as its own gallery to house a world-class modern art collection, the display of artwork was meant to create a thought-provoking pattern and emphasize wellness with uninterrupted 360-degree views to the city, ocean and sky. 

Seven unique “horizon” rooms were designed for meditation and wellness purposes with a play on lighting to mirror the Miami sky and water as it changes for dawn to dusk at different times of the years. These rooms were intended to engage users through experiential immersion in a two-tone play of color and lighting, providing a calm refuge to be at peace and create their best work.
