The Heritage Center is building a $14 million 19,000-square-foot performance and educational program space at the Weeksville site that will be Certified LEED Gold by the 2012 opening. A closed loop geothermal system was installed to serve as the space heating and cooling. Mr. Gant oversaw the construction of the loop field consisting of drilling geothermal boreholes to 470’ feet, the insertion of HDPE (High Density Polyethylene Piping) loops to full depth, installation of polyethylene vertical piping and vaults. Inspection of all work and materials to include excavation, trenching, casing (well grouting), as well as pressure testing well fields and maintaining detailed logs, were a daily part of Mr. Gants responsibilities.
