Swivel Table

The concept began out of a desire for a table that could adapt as needed. If additional surface space was necessary for more guests, a hidden surface could be made available, avoiding an overly large table when one was not needed. Storage space could also be tucked away so the top of the table could remain clean.

What resulted was an idea of nesting solids and voids which could move independently from one another as a person needed them.

The table is built with laminated walnut plywood, birch plywood. The pivoting mechanism relys on thrust needle bearings on custom aluminum spacers for smooth rotation.
