The urban house was designed to the same site restrictions as Amsterdam's Borneo Sporenburg scheme . The main concern was how to bring natural light into a tall narrow plan. This was done with a series of light wells and deep windows. A glass, 'sun buffer zone', creates a discreet clothes drying area and an opportunity for growing plants and vegetables, it can also contribute to the heating of the house.
