A student housing project done during my first semester of graduate school in a studio taught by Allen Washatko, principle and owner of Kubala Washatko Architects in Cederburg, Wi. This studio used pattern writing as a design driver as discussed in Christopher Alexander's "A Pattern Language" and emphasized design "wholeness". We developed a design criteria through establishing 3 patterns at 3 scales; the site, the building, and the room. My solution emphasized uniqueness of units and a sense of identity within the campus in which it was located. (programs used: sketchup w/ kerkythea, photoshop & indesign)
Status: School Project
