PROJECT: empower the youth of Mukuru Kwa Njenga, an informal slum settlement of 250,000, to connect with other youth and create positive change in their community by building a technology media lab and library.  this facility will provide education training and after school programs for the community as part of an overall complex called the SIDAREC Mukuru Kwa Njenga Resource Centre.

PROGRAM: youth library, media/computer lab, radio recording and broadcasting studio, internet cafe, space for informal sports, daycare, reception, storage, administrative offices

APPROACH: develop morphology of small buildings arranged as a network of structures with clear areas of public and private and visible circulation paths to monitor sports area.  allow for natural ventilation and light.  construction with concrete and local stone.
