This Third Year project was guided by Ed Woll in the Fall of 2008 as part of the housing concentration studio.
The design problem was to design a temporary research pod for three field scientists to inhabit in any given park space outside of Downtown Los Angeles.
Materials were limited to Wood and Canvas. The form of the pod is created by giving each scientist personal space elevated above the vegitation line and oriented in three distinct directions.
The tensile canvas pieces lightly enclose the living and working spaces framed in heavy timber  to provide shelter while maintaining cross ventilation and views for each scientist.
