Alex Whitehead

Los Angeles, CA, US

My name is Alex Whitehead and I am a 5th year architecture student at the University of Southern California. As an undergraduate student I have been deeply interested in the unique opportunities every project offers the architect. Not only with regards to each distinct site and program requirements, but also the teaching styles of each professor that has guided the process. I approach each problem with a fresh set of eyes and have subsequently learned something new and interesting with every project.

Since coming to USC I have traveled a good part of Western Europe and South Africa, where I spent the summer of 2010 doing cultural research on a traveling fellowship scholarship. These experiences have changed my life. It goes without saying that my experiences during my undergraduate years have been nothing less that extraordinary, and exciting. This is something I hope to continue doing throughout my career, and share with others along my journey. I have an intense passion for architecture in all of its aspects; whether it be structure, design, or the social impacts that architecture can have on its environment. I am excited to see where my career path will take me and open my eyes to even more amazing experiences and challenges in the future.

Thanks for checking me out!
