5M sf (full phase)
PageSoutherlandPage was invited to propose a design for a new corporate campus and research center for ConocoPhillips in Louisville, Colorado. Masterplanning was to be included for the full phase buildout, and the first phase of development was to be more thoroughly presented. This phase included a hotel & learning center, a lab facility, an office structure, and a campus entry/retail portal.
Conceptually, each building was designed around a central pedestrian mall, which expanded and contracted to form more or less open spaces, and traced the contours of the site. Much of this was structured above below grade parking, and the clustering of buildings allowed for much of the site to remain undeveloped - to be maintained as wildlife preserves and recreational amenities. The exterior was designed as a dual skin glazed system, patterned with horizontal and vertical shading elements, as well as building integrated photovoltaics.
