Private Residence

A five bedroom loft in a converted Tribeca warehouse, Robert Siegel Architects was asked to design the main entry way, the master bedroom and bathroom, three children’s rooms, play area, and kitchen.

The primary goal was to improve the quality of discrete portions of the loft by reconfiguring extremely small areas for maximum impact. The secondary goal was to seamlessly integrate modern materials and precise craftsmanship within the historic, rough-hewn timber framed structure.

Detailed research was completed to meet the client’s programmatic needs and options were prepared that used a different material palette and detailing strategy. This created enough variety to maintain the idiosyncratic quality of “home” while having a consistently high level of detail and craftsmanship.
