Located in the Chihuahuan Desert in West Texas, Presidio is approximately 220 miles southeast of El Paso on the USA-Mexico border, adjacent to Ojinaga, Mexico. Due to the small size of the town of Presidio, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) needs to make housing available to their personnel in order to meet its mission at this location. To meet CBP’s goals, the neighborhood design maximizes the number of high-performance modular housing units on the 27 acre site, totaling sixty-seven rentable housing units. The design integrates a network of shared, landscaped common space with the housing units to inspire a sense of community and encourage pedestrian activity.
