Exterior Variable Facade System - Spring 2009
Project with Adam Bruce & Elizabeth Maus
The focus of this variable facade system was to allow maximum natural ventilation through a recreation center in the temperate climate of San Diego. A system of concrete panels attached to a network of pistons allow for various ventilation conditions based on the desires of the buildings’ inhabitants. A full-scale wall section and detailed diagrams were all required to be hand-drawn for this exercise, along with the production of a 1:12 scale model.
