Architectural Plan for International Medical and Nursing Center

This medical/ research site in Tsukuba, Japan is designed to be multi-programatic, covering a range of health related issues from emergency training to the care of elderly and very young. The site, spanning over a kilometer long, has the program gently shift as the buildings interact with the landscape. The project shifted focus midway through the semester due to the Sendai earthquake’s great
impact on Japan. I tried to focus the program on rebuilding communities, particularly in the case of
Japan’s elderly population, which was particularly hit by the disaster.
