Kris is a recent graduate from the M.Arch I program at UCLA's Department of Architecture and Urban Design. He has been working for architectural firms throughout Los Angeles and Orange County since high school and formally began his design education at the University of Michigan, Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning. Having earned his Master's degree, he now intends to advance his career by becoming a licensed architect in California.
While at UCLA, Kris received the King's Award for design excellence. Concurrently, he has been involved with the Department of Architecture at Cal Poly Pomona, where he served as a juror for the undergraduate program. He has been advising students at all levels of design, from introductory studios to fifth year final thesis projects.
Prior to entering the University of Michigan's architecture program, Kris was allowed to study abroad in Switzerland with advanced students. Before graduating, he had the opportunity to study in Tokyo and visit Venice for the Architectural Biennele in 2009. Outside of studio, he has traveled to India, Costa Rica, several countries in Europe, and the South Pacific.
In 2011, Kris successfully raised funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society while training for an Ironman Triathlon. The race consists of swimming 2.4 miles, biking 112 miles, and running 26.2 miles (marathon distance) within 18 hours. He was able to raise over $9,000 for blood cancer research and remains committed to the cause.
