Oulu, FI
The two-storey wooden house was designed as a new home for a family with children. The house is situated in a new residential neighbourhood in Oulu, Finland on a corner plot. The shape of the building follows the diagonal shape of the plot.
The living spaces and the wash room including a sauna are situated downstairs. The bedrooms are on the second floor. Access to the terrace in the diagonal end of the building is also from the second floor. A staircase next to the glass wall connects the two floors. The living room and kitchen are separated from the staircase by a massive wall, which affords views through the immaterial glass behind.
The fittings in the house are designed to be simple and practical. The grey tone of the walls and floor acts as a peaceful background for the well thought out furniture and colourful life of the family.
