This enclave of forty-eight new homes provided the unique opportunity to create not just a new building, but a whole new neighborhood. Located along Milwaukee Avenue, adjacent to Old Irving Park and in close proximity to public transit, the homes are arranged to create a sense of community and promote pride of ownership. A tree-lined street and sidewalks curve through the site alongside a centrally located park, promoting a pedestrian-friendly experience. The individual lots feature landscaped yards, wide and welcoming front porches, and two-car detached garages largely accessed via alleys. The design of the individual homes reinterprets the traditional image of a house, with traditional peaked roof forms and comfortably scaled windows taking cues from modern influences and detailing. The designs utilize a sophisticated neutral color palette, lending to the refined and crisp appearance. Within each home, the floor plans also take cues from modern lifestyles, with an open, loft-like first floor and ample natural light. The layouts cater to the modern urban family, including three bedrooms located on the second floor a finished lower level with a family room and a spare bedroom.
