San Francisco, CA
OpenScope has been hired to design a house for a small, triangular shaped
parcel of land at the edge of a large agricultural valley. Replacing a decrepit trailer home and a collection of sheds, the new house is designed to prioritize views of the valley and mountains beyond. The wall and floor assemblies are designed to make the house almost energy neutral, taking advantage of a high efficiency
wood stove for supplemental heat. The building is served by a septic system and it is anticipated a PV system will be installed to provide most of the home’s electrical energy.
