The project was to provide professional architectural services for the preliminary and final design
of the new City Hall and Day-Care Center, including all related improvements to the project site. The project’s design blends a new 125,000 sqf.. facility, that includes parking for 600 cars, into the existing urban fabric.
This new state-of-the-art City Hall houses Council Chambers, City Departments, and is a place for local community groups to meet. To accomplish this, departments were located in such a manner as to distribute high pedestrian traffic to various city offices around the site. This allows easy access to all departments, while simultaneously reducing the visual impact of automobiles and parking lots. The new Daycare Facility is a 6,333 sqf., type V wood frame structure. This facility accommodates 75 children within 6 classrooms at approximately 426 sqf. each. There is also 650 sqf. office space for 12 administrative and staff personnel. Included in this facility is a 456 sqf. kitchen and storage area for the purpose of storing and warming up food for the children.
