Knickerbocker Telephone Company Building

The exterior restoration of this 1894 building included the restoration of the original sheet metal cornice; the brownstone watertables, sills, and lintels; the cast-iron bands and storefronts bays, and the fire escapes. Much of the top floor of the Layfayette Street facade was reconstructed along with the entire upper half of the sheet metal cornice and decorative brackets. All cast iron and wrought iron elements of the storefront were stripped, patched and recast and painted to their original historic color.
