Just a few days ago, results were announced in the international architectural competition Piraeus Cultural Coast - Museum of Underwater Antiquities. Now the organizers also released images of the five winning projects and nine honorable mentions. Helsinki-based duo Architects Rudanko + Kankkunen has sent us their entry in the architectural competition for a future school concept in Vantaa, Finland. Amsterdam-based firm SHaGa Studio and Israeli design partners Auerbach Halevy Architects [UPDATE: and Ori Rittenberg (Rotem)] have sent us 'Fields of Knowledge,' a design collaboration for a new sustainable education campus in Ramat Efal, Israel. In the competition for the design and construction of the innovative campus, the proposal was shortlisted from over 50 entries and awarded the second prize. — bustler.net

French-Californian outfit Sériès et Sériès has shared with us its entry to the international architectural competition "Piraeus Cultural Coast - Museum of Underwater Antiquities" in Piraeus, Greece. Earlier this month, the installation Sky Spotting Stop had been chosen as the first-ever YAP Istanbul Modern winner in conjunction with the Young Architects Programs at MoMA PS1 in New York, MAXXI in Rome and the cultural organization CONSTRUCTO in Santiago, Chile.

The design proposal by Populous and Ateliers 2/3/4/ for the new Grand Stade Rugby Stadium in Paris has emerged victoriously over two competing entries. Winning projects in three categories have been announced in Gowanus by Design's latest competition, WATER_WORKS. The new Cathedral of the Northern Lights, situated in the Norwegian town of Alta over 300 miles north of the Arctic Circle, has just been inaugurated by the Crown Princess of Norway, Mette-Marit. The 154-foot-high cathedral, designed by Link Arkitektur in collaboration with schmidt hammer lassen architects and Haldde Arkitekter Inc., is perceived as a symbol and an architectural landmark for the entire area. — bustler.net

The residential development District//S in Beirut, Lebanon has been awarded the Francis Tibbalds Prize for best Practice Project at the UK's National Urban Design Awards 2013.
