It's a three-way tie for the competition to develop the urban conceptual design for the Delta and Porto Baros area in Rijeka, Croatia. UNStudio has surely been on a roll in completing projects for the past few weeks. Ben van Berkel and co. recently finished the Hanjie Wanda Square at the Wuhan Central Culture Centre in Wuhan, China.
UNStudio's overall design for the facade and interior of the new luxury shopping plaza won a 2011 international competition. Using sophisticated yet simple materials, the plaza has sleek colors and dynamic patterns that are also a suitable match for its luxury retail features.

In light of the upcoming prestigious ICON Magazine Awards 2013 taking place on Dec. 5 at the Oval Space in East London, we're excited to feature industrial design studio RoboFold, who is one of this year's "Emerging Design Studio" nominees.
Before RoboFold's establishment in 2007 at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London, Gregory Epp — who was a student there — spent more than a decade researching curved folding techniques.

The ultramodern Villa Kogelhof in Kamperland, the Netherlands has just been awarded one of the prestigious Dutch ARC13 Architecture Prize. The building's designers, Amsterdam-based Paul de Ruiter Architects, were honored with the prize — alongside three other award winners — at a festive award ceremony in Rotterdam. — bustler.net

For anyone returning from the Thanksgiving holiday, perhaps a fitness-inspired project could help ward off a little of that holiday indulgence. MARS Architects recently won the competition to design the headquarters for leading sports activity brand Walltopia in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Chosen out of 369 entries from 63 countries by the Foster + Partners-led jury, MARS' proposal is an 8,800 sq.m hybrid structure whose program is cleverly "folded" by an interweaving climbing atrium.

Reaching completion within three years, Studio Fuksas' Terminal 3 at the Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport in Guangdong, China will begin operation starting today, Nov. 28. [...]

The Battery Conservancy is one step closer to finding the winning outdoor chair design of their Draw Up A Chair competition for The Battery park in New York City.
The competition began with 679 submissions in July 2012. Then the jury selected the Top 50 designs, which were exhibited for the public to see and use over the past six months.
