The Architectural Review has announced the winners of the 2024 AR Future Projects awards. The series describes itself as a “window into tomorrow’s cities” by celebrating excellence in projects still undergoing design or construction, which have “the potential for positive contribution to communities, neighborhoods and urban landscapes around the world.”
The overall winner of the 2024 series was Tårnkvartalet in Fornebu, Norway, designed by Haptic Architects and PIR2. Located in a new neighborhood on the site of a decommissioned airport, the secondary school includes a large amphitheater, library, sports center, and civic hub. Jury member Julia King described the scheme as representing “a powerful precedent for how schools can serve a dual role for both education and culture.”
Below we have rounded up the winners for the 2024 edition. You can compare this year’s selection against previous winners by reviewing our past coverage of the AR Future Projects awards here.
