For this week's curated picks of architecture and design competitions listed on Bustler, we have selected four prompts calling for individuals and initiatives that connect younger generations with architecture, innovative product design ideas, conceptual proposals for a spiritual center in the Russian city of Derbent, and visions for roadside electric charging stations of the future.

Inspire Future Generations Awards
Register/Submit Deadline: Monday, Oct 4, 2021
"Open to practitioners, built environment professionals and the private/public sector, the Inspire Future Generations Awards aim to recognise people and initiatives globally that have been working with children and young people - helping them to engage in and advocate for a better built environment. They’re the first awards of their kind for all built environment professionals in the UK. Winning entries will need to demonstrate how they have made a tangible impact on closing the gap between architecture and education, through activity, collaboration or research."
KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2022
Register/Submit Deadline: Friday, Oct 15, 2021
"The KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD is an international product design competition that’s all about imagining and creating the future together. It gathers proposals from all around the world, and turns outstanding entries into commercial products. The KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2022 will be the 19th competition, and this time, we’ll be calling for works based on the theme 'UNLEARNING.' With the pandemic making latent issues in society more manifest, the theme is about resetting the knowledge and senses we’ve never questioned before and the experiences we’ve accumulated up to now, and exploring what designs can be created by imagining ideal futures for each of us."
Concept Design of Derbent Spiritual Center

The project consists of the following elements: Central Cathedral Mosque, Russian Orthodox Church, Synagogue, Conference Hall, Museum, Library, Landscaped Park. The project is to be built on a central site of approximately 25 hectares. The site is located in a dominant location within a newly planned quarter of the City, located to the south of historical center."
The Electric Fuelling Station of the Future
Register/Submit Deadline: Monday, Nov 15, 2021
"As a perceived lack of charging infrastructure is one of the largest barriers to EV adoption, this new design competition, The Electric Fuelling Station of the Future launched by Electric Autonomy Canada, is turning to designers and architects, hoping to enlist their help to fuel a fundamental change in our daily transportation habits and encourage a carbon-free future – thanks to more inspired and redesigned public charging stations. The ask? Submit a winning design for an entirely new roadside oasis for electric vehicles – one where drivers can rest, play, eat, recharge and more."
