Affordable Art Fair Battersea Spring Collection | 8-11 March

The international sensation that is the Affordable Art Fair returns to bring a stunning contemporary collection to the affordable market. The Battersea Spring Collection gives visitors a chance to buy that first piece for a home, or to add to an existing collection. Or, if you are short of change, why not have a wander around to see the very best emerging artists. 

Architecture on Stage: Robbrecht en Daem | 9 March

Visit the Barbican centre for a talk from the Belgium architecture firm Robbrecht en Daem. The talk will touch upon their callaborations with artists and their honoring of the old masters of architecture. 

Radical Matter: Rethinking materials for a sustainable future | 13 March

With the prospect of dwindling natural resources, it has fallen to designers to consider the next solution for sustainable design. The emerging designers of tomorrow are questioning the current model and lifespan of product design, and seeing opportunities for using new and recycled materials in unprecedented ways. This event marks the launch of Franklin Till's new book,with Till chairing a panel discussion on the future of innovation in material use and design. 

Routes In: Alternative Careers Fair | 8 March

If you know any young people interested in a career in arts and culture, then make sure you tell them about this week's career fair at the Tate. Mentor schemes, societies, universities and recruiters will all be running stalls to drop by to get an idea of what it is like to work in the field.

A series of talks from women in the industry has been guest-curated by Nicole Crentsil and introduced by Tate Modern Director, Frances Morris to also celebrate Women's Day. 

Nasty Women Exhibition: Empowerment | Opens 8 March

This exhibition both celebrates and explores the message behind Women's Day. The work of international female artists is here showcased, including photography, sculpture, fine art, and film, all in aid of raising money for End Violence Against Women.
