This week's picks for London architecture and design events

EUROPA 2: Germany + Switzerland | 24 October

This talk, which forms part of the EUROPA Connecting Ideas Across Borders series, looks at the work and thoughts coming out of Germany and Switzerland. Speakers include members of award-winning Christ & Gantenbein, Sauter von Moos,(Switzerland) Bel, and Leeser (Germany). Between them they have contributed to the renovations, extensions, and development of Zurich, Paris, Berlin, and Basel to name just a few. 

New London Neighbourhood Tour - Shoreditch | 18 October

London's most creative urban neighbourhood, Shoreditch, is known for it’s young designers, craft beer, and for its unprecedented transformation from neglected ex-industrial land to vibrant creative hub. This walking tour will explore this ever-changing area, and the most recent additions from Foster+Partners, Adjaye Associates, Gensler, and AHMM.

Sculpture in the City | Until 2018

Returning again to fill the Square Mile with public art is Sculpture in the City. This influx of artworks among the financial district's high rise buildings draws in visitors, and utilises one of the most recongised cityscapes as canvas. 

The London Photo Show | 18-22 October

Returning after its success in 2016, this exhibition was "born out of the knowledge that there are too many good photographers out there with great images not being shown to the world". Get yourself down to this short but sweet showcase to see work with subjects ranging from architecture to lifestyle. 

CASS ART FESTIVAL | 19-22 October

Another short exhibition this week celebrates CASS artwork from over 175 artists, including workshops and demonstrations. It's worth visiting, especially if you're visiting Soul of a Nation at the nearby TATE Modern.
