Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960-1985 | Opening on September 15

Don't miss the Hammer Museum's “Radical Women: Latin American Art, 1960–1985” exhibition, which “will give much-needed visibility to the practices of women artists working in Latin America and US-born women artists of Latino heritage between 1960 and 1985...Fifteen countries will be represented by more than 100 artists, with 260 works in photography, video, and other experimental mediums.”

Found in Translation: Design in California and Mexico | September 17

The works of icons like Richard Neutra, Luis Barragán, the Eames, and Clara Porset and some 300 other historical objects come together in this upcoming LACMA exhibition. Opening September 17, the exhibition explores the various architecture and design dialogues between California and Mexico from 1915 to 1985. Architectural drawings, models, posters, and more will be showcased.

The Architectural Imagination | Open now until September 23

“The Architectural Imagination”, the U.S. Pavilion's exhibition from the 2016 Venice Biennale, is still at the A+D Museum! Curated by Cynthia Davidson and Monica Ponce de Leon, the exhibition “emphasizes the importance and value of the architectural imagination in shaping forms and spaces into exciting future possibilities for all Detroit citizens.” 

Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in Chicano L.A. | Open now until December 31

Organized by ONE National Gay & Lesbian Archives at the USC Libraries, this exhibition “maps the intersections and collaborations among a network of queer Chicano artists and their artistic collaborators from the late 1960s to the early 1990s” — from mail art, alternative print media, fashion, punk music, and artists' responses to the AIDS epidemic.
