Living in America: Frank Lloyd Wright, Harlem & Modern Housing | Open now until December 17

Displayed at Columbia GSAPP through December 17, this exhibition traces the common history between Frank Lloyd Wright's Broadacre City scheme and the development of public housing in Upper Manhattan’s Harlem neighborhood. The ever-timely exhibition shows “how two different approaches to housing combine societal aspiration with racial segregation and socioeconomic inequality, and asks: How to live in America, together?”

Sonic Arcade: Shaping Space with Sound | Opening on September 14

Opening at the Museum of Arts and Design, this multi-component exhibition features interactive installations, immersive environments, and performing objects that explore how the ephemeral and abstract nature of sound is made material...[The] auditory provides a compelling sensory experience that is capable of reorienting the body to consider spatial and interpersonal relationships anew.”
