Tunnel; The Archaeology of Crossrail | Until September

The Crossrail project has dominated the press as one of the most complicated and largest transport projects in our city's history. Whilst works have been surging ahead, the excavation of over ten thousand artefacts has taken place. Many of these have proved invaluable in piecing together our city's history, and the broad range of objects found stretch over 8000 years, including Mesolithic tool makers, Roman remains, and victims of the Great Plague. 

The City is Ours | Opening 14 July

Opening on Friday, 'The City is Ours' is an exhibition as part of a wider set (City Now City Future) exploring the transformation, development, and inhabitation of our cities. Discussing how individuals and communities can affect and change the urban environment, this showcase will highlight the scope of improvement. 

Plywood: Material of the Modern World | Opening 15 July

Plywood; the material of choice for hip, bare bars, and furniture designers alike. It is both distinctive in appearance, yet often overlooked. This exhibition, opening at the weekend, will celebrate this modern material, including ground-breaking mid-century furniture from Alvar Aalto and the Eames', as well as looking at the everyday products we use whose existence would not be possible without the flexibility and ingenuity of this medium. 

Nine Elms Drift: Architecture Tour | 15 July

The largest building site in London, Nine Elms, comes under investigation in this exploritory walking tour, lead by architectural critic Oliver Wainwright. The £15bn regeneration project stretches from Vauxhall to Battersea, and will be dominating the riverside with luxury apartment towers. 

Pink Floyd: Their Mortal Remains | until October

Having opened last week, the most recent exhibition to the V&A (which just opened its new wing) is a celebration of the audio-visual history of Pink Floyd's musical journey. Having all met whilst in their architectural studies, the band's rockstar lifestyle has been hailed since as an example of the alternative career path to the traditional architecture route.
